What if Christ had not risen? Why does that matter? Paul’s answer is uncompromising: our preaching would be empty, our faith futile, and we would remain in our sins. But Christ is risen. He is the firstfruits, guaranteeing the future bodily resurrection of everyone who belongs to Him.
